1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE:

This Privacy Policy is intended to inform You, the user, about the information and data gathered by The Mirell Group LLC, doing business as Blissfully Balanced (“Blissfully Balanced,” “Us,” “We,” or “Our”) when You use our website, mobile and web applications, and related services (the “Sites” or “Services”), how We collect Your information, what information We collect, how We store Your information, and the degree to which Your information may be used. Blissfully Balanced provides a wedding budgeting and cash-flow planning platform that helps engaged couples track wedding costs, payments, due dates, and overall cash flow. Blissfully Balanced takes Your privacy seriously. We do not sell Your personal information for monetary compensation. We may, however, share personal information with service providers, analytics providers, and other third parties as described in this Privacy Policy in order to operate and improve the Services.

1.1 CONSENT:

By visiting our Sites or using the Services, You are consenting to the information collection, use, and sharing practices described in this Privacy Policy, as modified from time to time by Us. If You do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please stop using the Services and Sites.

1.2 THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS:

 Blissfully Balanced uses a number of third-party service providers (“Subprocessors”) to operate the Services, including, without limitation: Clerk (account creation, authentication, and identity management); Adobe Acrobat Services (extraction of data from vendor contracts and documents You upload); OpenAI (processing and structuring of extracted contract data and powering in-app AI features); PostHog (in-product analytics); Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel (analytics and, where applicable, advertising. These Subprocessors are used only on our public marketing website, not within the logged-in product); Stripe (payment processing); and hosting and application-infrastructure providers. These Subprocessors receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their function and are contractually restricted from using Your information for their own independent purposes, except as described herein. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Sites and Services owned and operated by Blissfully Balanced; it does not govern the privacy practices of these third-party providers, and We recommend You review their respective privacy policies.

1.3 WHAT THIS PRIVACY POLICY DOES NOT ADDRESS:

This Privacy Policy does not address the data management practices of other sites or services to which the Sites may link or with which the Sites may integrate, including vendors, venues, or other third parties whose contracts or information You may upload to the Services.

1.4 U.S.-ONLY SERVICE

The Services are directed solely to residents of the United States and are not intended for, marketed to, or designed to comply with the data protection laws of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions outside the United States (including the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”). If You access the Services from outside the United States, You do so at Your own risk, and Blissfully Balanced makes no representation that the Services or this Privacy Policy comply with the laws of Your jurisdiction.

2. DATA COLLECTION & USE

We collect personal information that You provide directly to Us, information collected automatically through Your use of the Services, and information generated through the operation of the Services’ automated systems and analytics tools. As part of registration, You will need to provide at least the name of one member of the engaged couple, an email address, and a wedding date. You may elect not to provide certain optional information, but doing so may limit Your ability to use certain features of the Services.

2.1 ELIGIBILITY; CHILDREN’S DATA:

The Services are intended for use by individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older who are planning a wedding. The Services are not directed at, and We do not knowingly collect personal information from, children. If You are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided Us with personal information, please contact Us using the information below to request deletion.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

The information We collect depends on how You interact with the Services. For example, You may browse the Sites without providing personal information; however, using our full range of services involves providing personal information.  For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means information that can be used to identify You, such as Your name, email address, or billing information.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account & Identity Data You Provide. When You register for an account (via Clerk, our identity provider), We collect the name of at least one member of the engaged couple and Your email address. You create and delete Your account directly through Blissfully Balanced. We also collect information You provide when requesting a service, and this information may, among other things, include personal information or reveal details about your preferences. 
• Wedding Details and Fund Information. Your wedding date, itemized wedding budget, planned and actual payment amounts and due dates, and guest count. The estimated amount of funds You expect to have available for the wedding and the general source(s) of those funds. We do not collect bank account numbers, routing numbers, or other account credentials, and We do not link to Your bank accounts.
• Vendor Contracts and Uploaded Documents (Premium). If You purchase a Wedding Pass, You may upload vendor contracts and related documents. We use Adobe Acrobat Services to extract information from these documents (such as vendor names, costs, and payment schedules) and OpenAI to process and integrate that extracted information into Your wedding plan. We retain the uploaded document itself as well as the data extracted from it.
• Imported Data. Data You choose to import from other sources or tools You have used for wedding planning, which may be structured (e.g., spreadsheets) or unstructured.
• Collaborator Information. If You invite a spouse, family member, wedding planner, or other collaborator to Your wedding plan, We collect the name and contact information of that collaborator and information about their activity within Your wedding plan.
• Device and Usage Data. Information about the device and browser You use to access the Services, IP address, and general usage data.
• Session Recordings. Within the Services, We use session-replay technology to record Your on-screen interactions (such as clicks, navigation, and scrolling) for quality assurance, troubleshooting, and product-improvement purposes. We do not use heat-mapping tools. Session recordings are retained for up to thirty (30) days, after which they are automatically deleted. We configure our session-recording tool to mask sensitive fields (such as payment information) where technically feasible.
• Marketing Site Analytics and Cookies. On our public marketing website (as distinct from the logged-in product), We use cookies, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and an OpenAI-powered chat feature to understand how visitors interact with our marketing site and to communicate with visitors who use the chat feature.
• User Communications. When You send email or other communications to Us, including customer support, We retain those communications to process your request and improve our service.
• Product Analytics. Within the logged-in product, We use PostHog to understand feature usage and improve the Services. PostHog processes this information solely as Our service provider, to provide analytics services to Us.

3.1 AUTOMATED PROCESSING AND AI SYSTEMS:

Blissfully Balanced uses automated technologies, including AI Systems (such as OpenAI’s models), to: extract and structure information from vendor contracts and other documents You upload; power the in-app AI Assistant; and generate budgeting, cash-flow, or planning suggestions. Contract data and other content You upload to the Services is used to operate the Services for You and is not shared with Adobe or OpenAI for the purpose of training their general-purpose models, consistent with the commercial/API terms governing Our use of those services. Outputs of these AI Systems are probabilistic and may not always be accurate or complete; they do not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice. See also our Terms and Conditions.

4. HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

We use personal and other information to fulfill your requests for services, contact You, customize content, and improve our services. More specifically, We use personal and other information as follows:

• Provide and Operate the Services. To create and maintain Your account and wedding plan, calculate budgets and cash flow, process uploaded vendor contracts, and enable collaboration features.
• Payment Processing. If You purchase the Wedding Pass, payment information is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Blissfully Balanced does not store full payment card information.
• Product Improvement and Analytics. We use PostHog (in-product) and session recordings to understand how the Services are used and to improve them.
• Marketing Site Analytics and Advertising. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Meta Pixel, and cookies on our marketing website to understand visitor behavior and, where used, to measure the performance of our advertising. If Meta Pixel is configured to build advertising or “lookalike” audiences, this may constitute “Sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, as described in Section 11 below.
  
  • GA4 collects IP addresses for geolocation purposes (to estimate city-level location). GA4 anonymizes IP addresses by default by removing the last octet, which prevents precise identification of users’ geographic locations. We have not enabled Google’s User ID feature and do not associate analytics data with personally identifiable information. You can manage your cookie preferences and opt-out of certain tracking features through your browser settings or via Google’s Ad Settings and Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Communications. To respond to Your inquiries, send account-related and service notifications, and, if You opt in, send marketing communications.
• Data Retention. We retain information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we may retain certain information for legal, compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes 
• Business Transfers. If Blissfully Balanced is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, Your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to confidentiality obligations.
• Complying with the Law. We disclose information if We have a good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, legal process, or an enforceable government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Blissfully Balanced, our users, or the public.
• De-Identified and Aggregate Data. We may create de-identified or aggregated data derived from Your information (which no longer identifies You) and use such data indefinitely for analytics, benchmarking, product improvement, and the development or improvement of our models and features, including after You delete Your wedding and account as described in Section 6.

Some web browsers may transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is currently no industry standard for how to interpret these signals, our Services do not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signal as described in Section 11.4.

5. DATA SECURITY:

Blissfully Balanced implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA:

• Wedding and Account Data. Our general practice is to retain Your wedding data, whether Your wedding is upcoming or has already occurred, for as long as Your wedding exists on the platform. We do not automatically delete Your data because Your wedding date has passed or because a Wedding Pass has expired. In the current version of the Services, deleting Your wedding and deleting Your account are a single action; deleting either will delete the other. See Section 7 for more detail.
• Effect of Deletion. When You delete Your wedding/account, We delete the associated user-visible operational data (such as Your budget, vendor information, and uploaded documents) from Your account. 
• Legal Retention. We may retain data for a longer period where necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations, or to resolve disputes.

7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES:

• Account and Wedding Data Review. You can review, update, and correct Your wedding and account information by logging into the Services.
• Export. You may export Your wedding data at any time, including while on the Free plan or after a Wedding Pass has expired.
• Downgrade. If Your Wedding Pass entitlement ends, Your wedding automatically returns to the Free plan. Your existing data including uploaded contracts, extracted information, and AI-generated outputs remains associated with Your wedding; You simply lose the ability to create or use additional Premium functionality unless and until You purchase another Wedding Pass.
• Deletion. You may delete Your wedding and account at any time. In the current version of the Services, this is a single, combined action, and it cannot be undone. Deleting Your account ends any active Wedding Pass entitlement.
• Opt-Out of Marketing. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each message or by contacting Us.
• California and Other State Privacy Rights. See Sections 11 and 11.5 below.

8. EMAIL NOTICE:

When You register for the Services, You will have the opportunity to opt in to the Blissfully Balanced email list. By opting in, You will receive account-related information and, if You choose, marketing information about Blissfully Balanced’s products and features. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time, but You may not be able to opt out of account, security, or legally required notifications while You maintain an account.

9. FAIR INFORMATION PRACTICES:

In the event of a data breach affecting personal information, We will notify affected individuals and applicable authorities as required by applicable law.

10. CAN-SPAM ACT:

We collect Your email address to send account and service information, respond to inquiries, and, where You have opted in, send marketing communications. In accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act, We will not use false or misleading subject lines, will identify marketing messages as such, will include our physical business address in marketing emails, and will honor opt-out requests promptly.

11. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS:

If You are a California resident, You have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

11.1 CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: Identifiers (name, email address, device identifiers, cookie identifiers); Commercial Information (records of Wedding Pass purchases); Internet or Electronic Network Activity (browsing and in-product usage activity, session recordings); Financial Information You Provide (estimated wedding fund amount and funding source); Uploaded Documents and Content (vendor contracts and data extracted from them); Account Credentials; and Customer Communications.

We collect this information directly from You, automatically through Your use of the Services, and from the third-party service providers. We may disclose personal information to service providers who support platform operations (identity management, document processing, AI processing, hosting, analytics, payment processing), and to parties involved in a corporate transaction.

11.2 SALE OR SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION:

We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation. Our marketing website uses Meta Pixel, which, depending on its configuration, may constitute “Sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CPRA. To the extent Meta Pixel (or any similar tool) is used in this manner, You have the right to opt out as described in Section 11.4 below.

11.3 YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE CCPA/CPRA:

As a California resident, You have the right to:

• Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, the categories of sources from which we collect it, the business purpose for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
• Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (such as legal obligations or security purposes).
• Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CPRA. Therefore, there is no need to opt out.
• Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect or use sensitive personal information in a way that requires offering this limitation right.
• Right Against Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

11.4 HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS; GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL:

To submit a request, contact Us at support@blissfullybalancedapp.com. We may need to verify Your identity before processing Your request. You may designate an authorized agent to act on Your behalf by providing written authorization. We recognize and will honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the Sale or Sharing of personal information.

11.5 OTHER STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS:

If You are a resident of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, You may have similar rights to know, access, correct, delete, and port Your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing.
